C2 body fractures are a type of spinal fracture, and their critical location has long made the selection of the best treatment approach a challenge for neurosurgeons. This study aimed to present the case of a 59-year-old patient who suffered a sagittal-fluid type 2 fracture of the C2 vertebra after an accident and cervical trauma, which was successfully treated with surgery.
Surgical treatment of patients with C2 vertebral fractures, based on factors such as the axis of the fracture, cervical spine stability, patient complications, and imaging findings, may be an appropriate option to save the lives of patients.
